Sohail Qaiser
The name Sohail Qaiser is written into Pakistani squash history — the first Pakistani to win the WSF World Junior Championship, in 1982. A generation later, a young player wearing that same name is climbing the age-group ladder inside the PSF pipeline.
Sohail Qaiser is one of the four faces the Pakistan Squash Federation has put forward as the 'Champions of Tomorrow' — the U15–U19 group tracked closely by the PSF national coaching group and travelling on federation-supported junior tours.
He came through the standard KP pathway — school-age tournaments in Peshawar, selection into the PAF and Army age-group camps, then the Asian Junior circuit. In 2024 and 2025 he was part of the Pakistan contingent at the Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships, reaching the latter rounds of his age group and helping Pakistan reach multiple finals across categories.
Playing under a name that already appears in the WSF roll of honour is not a small burden. The original Sohail Qaiser, from Lahore, beat Chris Dittmar of Australia in the 1982 Kuala Lumpur final and reached World No. 19 before his passing in 2016. Today's Sohail is his own player — but the responsibility of that lineage sits in every match report.
