In April 2025, in front of a home crowd in Karachi, Noor Zaman came back from two games down to win the inaugural WSF U23 World Championship — a title that carried the Zaman name back onto a world podium after a generation away.
Noor Zaman was born on 1 April 2004 in Peshawar, into the most decorated family in Pakistani squash. He is trained by his uncle, former international Munawar Zaman, and grew up on the courts of the Peshawar Squash Complex where his cousins and elders had done the same work before him.
He turned professional in 2019 at fifteen and moved steadily through the Challenger tour, quietly building a reputation as a tall, long-limbed retriever with the discipline to grind matches into the fifth. In 2024 he broke into the PSA top 60; by mid-2025 he had reached a career-high World No. 37.
His defining moment came in April 2025 at the inaugural WSF U23 World Championships in Karachi. Playing on home soil, he beat opponents from Kuwait, Peru and Italy before rallying from 0-2 down in the final — a comeback local writers described as the most emotional squash night in Karachi in twenty years.
Off court he has become one of the public faces of the current PSF revival, speaking often about the responsibility of carrying a family name that includes six British Open titles.

Style on court
At 6'1" he has one of the longest reaches on the PSA junior circuit, and he uses it. His squash is built on a low, extended attacking lunge, a very tight straight drive, and the patience to let opponents hit the first loose ball. He rarely finishes with a spectacular winner; he finishes because the other player has run out of options.
